Battery power meets planing quality

The new HLC 82 cordless planer from Festool

From October 2025, Festool will be expanding its 18V range with the new HLC 82 cordless planer - a powerful, handy tool for precise fitting work on the construction site and in the workshop. Whether chamfering beams, processing edge transitions on timber stud walls, rebating doors or adjusting plinths and fitting strips: The HLC 82 combines innovative technology with high performance for efficient and precise work in the woodworking trade.

The HLC 82 is compatible with all Festool 18V battery packs* and has a quick brake that stops the tool in less than two seconds, minimizing the risk of injury and damage to the workpiece.

Maximum performance and precise woodworking

Equipped with a brushless EC-TEC motor, the HLC 82 delivers consistently high pulling power - even at maximum cutting depth. The motor is particularly efficient and energy-saving, which significantly increases the service life of the device. With a planing width of 82 millimetres and a maximum rebate depth of 25 millimetres, the HLC 82 is versatile - ideal for a wide range of interior and exterior finishing applications.

Fine planing pattern - less sanding effort

A special highlight is the spiral blade with a pulling cut. It starts at an angle and peels the wood gently and without damaging the material. The result: an even, fine surface without visible planing strokes - and with significantly reduced noise.

Versatile, ergonomic, well thought out

The cutting depth adjustment from 0 to 2.5 millimetres enables precise adjustment during work. The ergonomically shaped handle with soft grip surface ensures comfortable handling - both for horizontal and vertical applications. Thanks to its low weight, the planer can be guided effortlessly. Three integrated 90° V-grooves in the soleplate make it easier to chamfer workpieces such as boards and beams - for clean, controlled work without slipping.

Innovative fiber sole for fast results

Another clever accessory is the newly developed chamfering soleplate. It enables precise and fast chamfering of long beams or squared timber. The wide, stable contact surface ensures a secure hold and even gliding - for straight chamfering in seconds. This saves time and increases efficiency. Even when using the rebate depth stop, a maximum rebate depth of 23 millimetres is maintained. The side-mounted rip fence ensures precise guidance when working on edges and prevents lateral drifting.

Healthy working - well thought-out extraction system

The HLC 82 is equipped with two extraction channels for clean and healthy working: The longer channel is suitable for use with a vacuum cleaner, while the shorter one is designed for applications with high chip removal - ideal for working environments without extraction facilities. The angled spiral blade also contributes to noise reduction.

Tested by the trade - made for the trade

"As with all our products, we had the HLC 82 intensively tested by tradespeople before its market launch," explains Pordi Kailer, Product Manager at Festool. "The feedback was consistently positive: The new cordless planer impresses with its performance, versatility and ergonomics. It takes mobile planing to a whole new level."
