One guide – many possibilities

The new AS-KS 120 R/L multifunctional stop

Precise cuts, secure workpiece guidance and greater flexibility for a wide range of applications: With the new multifunctional fence, Festool is expanding the range of applications for the KAPEX KS 120 and KS 88 mitre-and-rip saws. This well-designed accessory supports professionals in interior finishing, furniture making and timber construction with precise and repeatable cuts – from the smallest workpieces right through to cornice and moulding profiles.

Safe sawing – without time-consuming clamping

The hold-down function of the multifunctional fence holds the workpiece securely in position during sawing. This reduces the risk of material kickback and potential damage to the workpiece and machine. At the same time, the workpiece remains movable and can be easily shifted under the fence to align it precisely with the cutting mark. This eliminates the need for additional clamping procedures in many applications.

Clean cuts down to the last detail

The multifunctional fence really comes into its own with small workpieces and short cuts. Adjustable splinter guards support the workpiece right up to the saw blade, enabling tear-free cuts even with delicate materials. The splinter guards perform several functions simultaneously:

  • secure support of the workpiece
  • low-splinter cuts on the exit side of the saw blade
  • practical scoring mark
  • quick and easy replacement when worn

The integrated ‘Zero Clearance’ function ensures particularly precise material support directly at the cutting edge.

Easy positioning of cornice and moulding profiles

The height-adjustable stop enables the precise positioning and repeatable cutting of cornice and moulding profiles up to 168 millimetres directly in their original wall position. The workpieces are supported right up to the saw blade, which ensures consistently precise results. Unlike other solutions, this leaves the saw table free for standard crosscuts and prevents it from becoming blocked.

More than just a stop

In addition to its function as a stop, the height-adjustable aluminium profile also serves as a length stop for repeat cuts. For batch cutting, the profile can be supplemented with the optional MFT/3-AR stop rider. This allows workpieces to be cut to identical lengths quickly and reproducibly. Furthermore, the aluminium profile serves as a guide for groove cuts or as a spacer for special applications.

Quick to set up

The multifunctional stop is designed to simplify everyday work.  The splinter guard and contact plate can be fitted or removed without tools. This allows the fence to be quickly adapted to different applications, such as when working in the special mitre position on the KS 120: to do this, the splinter guard and contact plate are removed, enabling even tall workpieces to be mitred.

The ideal base: the KAPEX KS 120

The multifunctional stop reveals its full potential when used in conjunction with the KAPEX KS 120 REB – a crosscut saw that has been regarded as the benchmark in its class for years. The double-column guide with dual ball bearings ensures backlash-free, consistently precise cuts. The dual-line laser displays the exact cutting path from both sides of the kerf and enables quick, secure positioning of the workpiece – regardless of the reference edge.

Fine-adjustable mitre and bevel angles can be conveniently set from the front and, in combination with the robust mechanics, enable precise mitre and double mitre cuts. The integrated special crosscut position extends the cutting depth to up to 120 mm and is particularly suitable for tall profiles and working in the ‘original wall position’. With a cutting capacity of up to 305 x 88 mm, the KAPEX KS 120 handles even large crosssections with ease. Carpenters benefit from the high performance when cross-cutting beams – joiners from the precise repeatability during batch cutting. Despite its performance, the KAPEX KS 120 remains compact and portable: weighing around 24.3 kg, with a well-designed construction and integrated transport solutions, it is ideally suited for flexible use on site and in the workshop.

Greater efficiency for professionals

The multifunctional fence is compatible with both the KAPEX KS 120 and KS 88. With its combination of hold-down function, splinter guard, rip fence and height-adjustable aluminium profile, the multifunctional fence offers numerous ways to simplify workflows and increase precision in daily use.

The AS-KS 120 R/L multifunctional stop will be available from 7 September 2026. Further information at festool.co.uk
