The right jigsaw for every job:

Festool has designed its new cordless pendulum jigsaws specifically for the job at hand

The new generation of Festool cordless pendulum jigsaws: PSC 500, PSBC 500 and PSC-E 18

Whether it’s a quick assembly cut in interior finishing or a demanding cut in timber construction – the jigsaw is one of the most frequently used tools on the building site and in the workshop. That is precisely why precision, power and versatility are key to clean work and efficient processes.  With the new generation of its cordless pendulum jigsaws – the PSC 500, PSBC 500 and PSC-E 18 – system provider Festool is consistently tailoring its range to real-world applications. Users benefit from being able to easily find the right choice for their specific applications.

PSC 500 & PSBC 500 – precision, versatility and powerful torque for demanding applications

Depending on the handle design and primary application, the cordless pendulum jigsaws are available as the PSC 500 with a knob handle and as the PSBC 500 with a bow handle. Both variants are based on the same high-performance machine platform and are designed for precise, controlled sawing. The guide system is particularly crucial for cutting accuracy: this is where the PSC 500 and PSBC 500 come into their own with an advanced triple blade guide. It stabilises the blade and reduces sideways drift even during demanding applications. The result is precise cuts on straight lines, curves and mitres. The saw table, which can be swivelled up to 45 degrees on both sides with a secure 0-degree detent, supports angle cuts with high precision. Splinter protection, a blow-off function, LED lighting adjustable via the Festool app, and optimal dust extraction also ensure a clear view of the marking line and clean cut edges. The PSC 500 and PSBC 500 are also designed for a wide range of applications: with a cutting depth of up to 120 millimetres and clever accessories, they can handle a wide variety of tasks.

Typical applications include:

  • Precise cutting and trimming of timber components up to 120 mm
  • Precise contour cutting of formwork, decking boards and stair treads
  • Angle and curved cuts in solid wood and panel materials
  • Cut-outs in insulation and sandwich panels with sturdy facing layers

The performance of the jigsaws is particularly evident when working with thicker materials. The advanced machine design of the PSC 500 and PSBC 500 ensures powerful, consistent cutting action – even during longer cuts in solid wood. The EC-TEC drive maintains a constant stroke rate even under load, enabling rapid work progress whilst maintaining high cutting quality. Adjustable speed, automatic start-up and adjustable pendulum stroke allow for precise adaptation to the material and application. This supports controlled feed and reduces the need for reworking – even during demanding sawing tasks.

In timber construction, the PSC 500 and PSBC 500 really come into their own, particularly for applications involving larger cross-sections, formwork or stair components.  This makes the new jigsaws suitable for use in carpentry as well. At the same time, they offer a wide range of applications for joiners and interior fitters – from precise fitting work to contour-accurate cuts in solid wood and panel materials. The coordinated accessories further enhance versatility: the circular cutter enables precise circular cut-outs with diameters ranging from 92 millimetres up to three metres. A variety of base plates, splinter protection and material-specific saw blades support flexible use in the workshop and on the construction site.

PSC-E 18 – designed for installation work

Festool has adopted an approach consistently geared towards installation applications with the PSC-E 18. The compact cordless pendulum jigsaw is specifically designed for applications where low weight, easy handling and fast cuts are paramount.  Weighing just 2.3 kilograms including the TBX 4 battery pack, it enables fatigue-free working – particularly when changing positions frequently or working from below.

The fixed 90-degree saw table is designed for typical assembly situations and reduces the need for adjustment: unpack, position, saw – no setting up, no readjustment. On the PSC-E 18, too, the triple saw blade guide ensures clean cutting results, designed for material thicknesses of up to 40 millimetres. Pendulum action, a smooth automatic startup and tool-free, one-handed saw blade change support an efficient workflow when switching between tasks.

Typical applications for the PSC-E 18 include:

  • Fitting and adjustment work on furniture, kitchens and in interior design up to 40 mm material thickness
  • Quick cutting to length of mouldings, panels and smaller workpieces
  • Cut-outs and precise cutting on the construction site
  • Mobile work where low weight and easy handling are key

Efficient working with new, coordinated system accessories

For high endurance and consistent power output, Festool recommends using the new TBX 4 battery pack for the new jigsaws. It enables longer running times with short charging times and supports powerful, consistent work progress. The right jigsaw blade also has a significant impact on the result: when matched to the material and application, the machine’s performance can be effectively channelled into clean cuts and an efficient workflow.

Consistently designed for practical use

Festool’s new generation of cordless jigsaws is consistently geared towards the diverse demands of everyday work: whilst the PSC 500 and PSBC 500 are designed for powerful and versatile applications with high precision requirements, the PSC-E 18 is specifically designed for assembly work and interior finishing.  Festool has fully integrated its three new models into the Festool 18-volt system, and they are compatible with the latest Festool battery packs. The new machine concept is complemented by a range of jigsaw blades tailored to specific applications, which optimally enables precise cuts in a wide variety of materials.

The PSC 500 and PSBC 500 will be available from specialist retailers from 7 September 2026; the PSC-E 18 has been available since April 2026. Further information at festool.co.uk
