On Thursday, 22 June 2023, the TTS Group awarded its suppliers in the European region for exceptional performance - measured in terms of quality, delivery reliability, cost-effectiveness and partnership for the 2022 financial year. After the last three years, due to the pandemic, awards could only be presented online, this year the event took place in the K3N town hall in Nürtingen. Around 170 strategic suppliers from Germany and Europe were present.
TTS Group awards suppliers for 2022
The motto of the event was "stability" as a common goal in all areas of cooperation. Stability in partnership, quality, supply chains and competitiveness as a response to global challenges such as pandemic, war, environment and economic development. A supplier base producing predominantly in Europe is the foundation for achieving the stability goal.
The Supplier Award was presented in 6 categories
As a brand-oriented company, long-term, stable and fair partnerships with its suppliers are important to the TTS Group. A large number of the key suppliers have been working successfully with the TTS Group for over 15 years. The majority of components are sourced from Germany and, as far as possible, from Europe - in total, approx. 90% of the purchasing volume. The TTS Group is thus committed to Germany as a business location and shows that it can also purchase competitively in this country with its high qualitative and technological demands. After the welcoming address by Jens Thieme, Head of Purchasing, Cluster Manager Peter Pongratz presented the current market situation from a sales perspective and also ventured a look into the future of the market segment. This was a very important presentation for the partners of the TTS Group, especially with regard to future business. Afterwards, Festool application engineers Georg von dem Bussche and Philipp Stahl presented the latest products in the field of rechargeable batteries, saws and the Festool ExoActive System. Dr. Birgit Braches, CFO TTS, presented the business development of the company in the past financial year and the investments in the future. Birgit Braches, Jens Thieme and Jochen Mann (Head of Strategic Purchasing) then presented the Performance Series Award to the selected suppliers for the product groups plastics, die casting, mechanical parts, electronic parts and OEM/ODM: Technoplast Engineering GmbH from Murrhardt, Bossert GmbH from Geislingen an der Steige, Honecker GmbH from Brackenheim, Technic-Center Frankenberg Sachsen Engineering GmbH from Frankenberg, Contradis from Ammerbuch-Entringen. The award for "Performance Indirect Material" went to Hans Kolb Wellpappe GmbH & Co KG from Memmingen. The awards for "Performance Asia" will also be presented on site in Asia this year in October.
After the award ceremony, Gerhard Grebing, Head of Quality Management and responsible for the TTS Sustainability Network, presented the four main areas of action Climate, Governance, Resources and People with their approach to sustainability. Finally, the Purchasing management team presented the current purchasing strategy with focal points and expectations in the segments of efficiency/cost reduction, quality and availability to the partners. The topic of digitalisation in the interface with the partners has continued to develop successfully and the next steps were presented. The topic of stability in the partnership was the core theme of the concluding summary. In the subsequent "get together" with lunch, many contents of the event were further deepened and exchanged.
Another highlight was the graphic that Britta Krondorf created during the event with the content presented (see also photo).
A special thank you goes to our technical team, which spontaneously stepped in to compensate for the short-notice, accident-related cancellation of the originally booked external camera team. Top performance!
